Notebook

IT DIDN'T EXIST
SO WE MADE IT

We started by making a notebook for ourselves -

but realized others would love it too.

MEET ABBY

Abby is a fashion designer, Japanese learner and matcha tea lover based in Toronto, Canada. While she was studying Japanese at University (Parsons School of Design in New York City), she realized how challenging it was to find good genkouyoushi paper (manuscript paper) to practice writing Kanji in. The only forms of this paper she was able to find were large-sized notebooks on Amazon or practice books designed for little kids in Asian countries who are first learning how to write. Abby was determined to design the perfect kanji practice notebook that aligned with the following criteria:

  1. Was small enough that it could fit in most bags so she could practice on the go.

  2. It had an elastic strap to keep the book closed while in a bag to keep the pages clean and crisp.

  3. It had a sleek cover design that didn't feel like a book made for a middle-schooler.

  4. It kept her motivated to keep studying.

And this is how the Kanji Knit notebook began! Abby and her team truly believes that this notebook is the ultimate tool for kanji practice. Whether you are a beginner needing larger writing squares, or an advanced polyglot looking for a well-designed practice notebook - this is the notebook for you.
